Guest guest
Pam, I think he could just switch back to the Zoloft, since it's Prozac that he's on. Though since Prozac is longer-acting, might start with a lower dose of the Zoloft first day or so. But is he taking the lowest dose of Prozac already? Just wondering if lowering dose might get rid of these side effects if he could lower it a bit. And then there's always another SSRI he could try since he didn't like Zoloft. As for more time, how long has he been on the Prozac? > > My husband complained to his > psychiatrist that he felt to numb on zoloft. Guest guest
Thank you Chris. He is so emotional, I am concerned. And he thinks the prozac is better. His boss told him he was too chaotic lately. I want him to switch back I have the medication, his psychiatrist said to switch, I am going to have to hide the prozac. I am surprised how impaired his judgement is right now. Thanks for the support. Pam > > > > My husband complained to his > > psychiatrist that he felt to numb on zoloft. Guest guest
You're welcome Pam. Do you belong to the OCD Support group for adult sufferers? You might ask about the med switch there to the doctors ( " Ask Dr.... " ) and maybe they will respond soon (or someone else who has switched). I was sorta quoting what I read from Dr. Jenike, at times he has said to just switch the meds, simply, no dosing up/down, etc., when asked questions. > > > > > > My husband complained to his > > > psychiatrist that he felt to numb on zoloft. Guest guest
Also, tho he is liking the Prozac better, maybe he will be willing to try something other than Zoloft and Prozac? But go back on the Zoloft until he sees the doctor again, and then try another med, stress it may work as well as the Prozac but without making him so chaotic, impulsive, distracted, uninhibited...whatever word would fit best. Tell him his boss and you, any others, all agree his behavior has changed, not for the better, since Prozac, and there are other meds to try.... Hang in there! > > > > > > My husband complained to his > > > psychiatrist that he felt to numb on zoloft. Guest guest
Hey Pam, I found this comment by Dr. Claiborn in the adult group, where someone was switching: " The change was from 40 mg Prozac (a moderate dose) to 100 mg Zoloft (a moderate dose). Since SSRIs are doing pretty much the same thing switching from one to the next is usually not to difficult. " > > Thanks so much! > > Pam >
