Guest guest
My dd is the same way with everything she feels in her body. Unfortunately, it has led me to ignore symptoms a few times.... she has had an ear infection, broken finger, and broken foot that I blew off as her complaints.... Yes, eventually I brought her in, then felt awful!!!!  The other day dd was on the phone and dh and I heard her say to her friend " Sorry, I over reacted a bit " . Dh and I looked at each other and laughed (she did not hear us). She over reacts about everything and we would love to hear her say that to us sometime! But we were happy to hear she realized that she did over react about something. I feel pretty positive now that he gets aches and pains like all of us do it's just he's extremely sensitive to it. It fits because he's sensitive to everything... tastes, smells, the way things feel.... so it would sort of go along with his hyper-sensitivity. At least I can feel reassured that he's not actually having some sort of health problem that I'm ignoring. > > > > > > > > He is constantly talking about random pains. His hips hurt, his throat hurts, his shoulder hurts.... > > > > He has played sick a lot in the past to avoid going to school but over the winter break this kept going. He constantly wants his temperature taken, he always says his stomach hurts... I've taken him to the doctor for his throat and they found nothing. Is this something that a lot of OCD parents have dealt with? He is only 5 and I worry that maybe there is something actually wrong and I'm just not going to believe him because I hear it so often. > > > > Thanks, > > Tricia > > >
