Guest guest
Actually my dd has been on Risperdal, Abilify, Geodon, Seroquel at different times and she had different reactions to all of them. For her, Geodon is her best one and she is still on it. Risperdal worked well as well. Abilify and Seroquel were bad for her. So, I definitely think you can't get different responses to them. Has anyone else had a bad experience with one atypical antipsychotic, but then improvement with another one?

Guest guest
Clonidine can cause anxiety and irritability as can Tenex (another antihypertensive used for the same indications as Clonidine). We had the same experience that you are having on it. I would disagree with the doctor about the effectiveness of SSRI's - I think the response is really varied and dependent upon other comorbidities, ect... As far as antipsychotics go, we have had very different responses on various ones and often the side effects were dose related. I think it may be worth it to try a different one. Good luck, Bonnie > > Anybody here whose child is on clonidine? My son has been on it now for 2 weeks, in addition to Luvox. It's not really for OCD, more for ADD, but since I've wondered if he could have that, too, we thought we'd try it and see if it helped at all. He does seem calmer and a bit more focused, but cranky! He has been irritable, much more so than his normal, since the day he began taking it. The OCD seems worse. He says it doesn't make him feel weird (like the Geodon did) and the psychiatric nurse practitioner who suggested it says it has few side effects. Has anyone else had a bad experience with one atypical antipsychotic, but then improvement with another one? She said she wanted to stay with the Luvox, because he did get improvement on it, and a 30-50% reduction in symptoms or their " volume " is all you can really expect from the SSRI. We go > back to see her again Wed. I am open to any suggestions! Thanks for listening. > >
Guest guest
Our daughter (6) has been on clonidine for a year. It has really helped calm her evening rages.
