My daughter was diagnosed as having autism and it was recommended that

she attend a local school out of our district that has more robust

programs to support the educational needs of children on the spectrum.

She is bussed to and from the school every day.

She has benefited greatly and has even been mainstreamed now in 1st

grade (although she has a part-time aide help her and one or two other

students in class).

Now that she has been mainstreamed, however, the school is telling us

she has to go back to her home district elementary school next year. It

is not in her best interst to change schools.

Have any of you faced this problem? What did you do?
