Hi everyone. My dd is a freshman in high school right now and has high

hopes of attending college away from home. Academically I have no

doubts of her capabilities and she is doing terrific in high school

without academic support. She does have one class period in the LRC

where they help her with her organizational, coping and social skills.

This had been a Godsend and I am so grateful for it.

She still has trouble with many of her daily living skills. Which we

work on at home and she has made many improvements. However this is

with me there to remind her and keep her on track. I can't go to

college with her, nor do I want to. But I don't want her to crash and

burn when she gets there. I am looking for advice from any of you

adults on the spectrum as to what I can do now to prepare for the

independance that she needs in the future. We are having her IEP next

month, what if any things should I ask for to prepare for college?

Carol
