Guest guest
I noticed that at least one person here is using this drug to help with TS with a good result, which is great. May daughter has just started Intuniv to help with agressiveness. She has ocd which gets very entangled with obstinate and defiant behavior which is likely related to normal ages and stages, pre/pubescent stuff, and makes regular parenting impossible. Right now her ocd/anxiety is the parent in charge, which is very disfunctional. Increasing Prozac did not help, maybe even made things worse. We decreased the Prozac quickly -- no crises (yay!!) and little effect noticed at all -- and just started Intuniv -- 1mg for an 11 yr old. This looks like a fairly new drug. The literature says it's a non-stimulant that helps with ADD/ADHD, but that it's not clear why or how it helps. It's a selective alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist. I have no idea what that means. Since it's so new, I'd like to check in and see what others' experiences with this drug are -- and what others have used it for.... : ) Noel
