I am trying my 12 year old daughter on NAC because I have also read that it can

offer help for trich (compulsive hair pulling) and might help skin picking. My

daughter is on the top dosage she should be on for Anafranil and would like more

stress relief, so I decided to try this and her psychiatrist said it was worth a

try. She has only been on it for a few days, but if I see an improvement, I

will definitely let this list know.

New question- Lexapro and Effexor??

Ok, I have a new question. My DD went to see her psych on Friday and she told

him she thought the medicine wasn't working anymore. This is stemming from a

few weeks ago when she ran into a can of Comet at the school and so the OCD has

ramped up again. So he suggested putting her on Effexor to " enhance " the

Lexapro. Anyone heard of this? Any of your kids on these two things?

I mentioned the NAC thing and he said he knew nothing about it, but since it was

a natural supplement, was worth a try. Still trying to decide what to do....

We are really, really reluctant to add another med that might mess her up at

school!

Hello, I have a 12 yr daughter. I wanted to try MYO-Insitol..is that the same as

NAC? If so could you tell me what dose you give her? My dd is the size of an

adult. Thanks!

God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
