Guest guest
From: Elysse Arnold - I am conducting an online survey that examines barriers to effective treatment for children with OCD. I am a research assistant at the University of South Florida. And, I think that collecting this information is crucial to future pediatric OCD research. The survey is completely anonymous and filled out by parents of children with OCD. Also, the survey has been approved by our local Institutional Review Board. I have provided a link below to the " test " survey which allows you to view the survey without storing your responses in the database. Also, I have provided the actual link that parents can use to take the survey. The survey is for parents of children with OCD between ages 5 and 17 years old and asks questions about treatment barriers, OCD symptoms, overall anxiety impairment, demographic information and past treatment history. The survey does not ask for any identifying information. So, the parent or guardian can feel secure in knowing that the survey is anonymous. The survey must be completed in one seating and takes approximately one half hour. We feel that gathering this information is very important to OCD research. Guest guest
My child is now 19 years old, but his OCD diagnosis was made when he was 16 (and accounted for many symptoms before it was recognized as OCD). Would you like me to fill out the survey? Guest guest
JJMD, here's Elysse's reply to your question I sent her, it is strict as to age: Hi I am so grateful for your help and the willingness of this parent. Unfortunately, I am only approved by the institutional review board to administer the survey to parents of children between the ages of 5 and 17. Because of the strict nature of research involving children, it would be a violation to knowingly include a person who did not meet the criteria. Please let this parent know that I truly appreciate his/her willingness. Sincerely, Elysse > > > > My child is now 19 years old, but his OCD diagnosis was made when he was 16 (and accounted for many symptoms before it was recognized as OCD).
