Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, We're just north of DC and felt the earthquake too and one of the aftershocks. Lynn starts middle school on Monday, assuming that we are not swamped and in the dark due to Hurricane Irene. She seems to be handling the weather issues well and is doing better with the middle school approaching since she had orientation today. I, on the other hand, am feeling rather hyper with all the uncertainty about weather and other natural disasters. Perhaps Matt can find some comfort in the thought (I'm working on this too) that we cannot prevent, control, or alter the course of earthquakes and storms no matter how much we work at worrying, obsessing, or doing rituals. Neither can the news media--no matter how much they hype the impending storm to get listeners!! I have to remind myself that although I hate the uncertainty and the potential for a real mess from this storm, we will get through it, clean up from it, and move on. Best wishes to Matt! And to you, too! (mom w/OCD, 11 yo dd w/OCD, almost 9 yo dd w/Tourette's and/or OCD?)
