Ok last year when my 3 year old daughter had OCD symptoms overnight, no one ever

suggested to me to have her strep tested. It took me a long time to discover

PANDAS and it's been in the back of my mind.

Her OCD was almost non-existent for the last 4-5 months after a long episode.

It's literally come back FULL force with a complete meltdown today that looked

exactly like the one she had a year ago.

(Constant tears asking if her toes are going to be ok, constant checking of her

toes and asking for reassurance, the need to check everyone's toes--mine, her

dads, etc)

She's acting so different all of a sudden I figure now is my chance to test for

STREP???

I have NO idea what test to ask for? Do I just call the pediatrician office and

request she come in for a strep test? Anything else I should mention? Chances

are I won't even see her pediatrician they will probably just have her come in

for a swab?? Not sure if I can get a same day appt. with her actual doctor but I

will ask.

She has NO strep symptoms but I have heard that carriers may have no symptoms at

all. Last year when her OCD started she had pink-eye but no sore throat, fever,

etc. I have really wondered all this time if she has pandas because of the

severity and suddeness of this all coming on last year. And it's come on over

night again after I thought it was over and done with.

I have also heard everyone in the family should get tested for strep when the

child shows sudden signs of OCD. Is that true?

Thanks for any info!
