DD, 10, called from school Tuesday.  She fell and hurt her hand/finger and was

at the nurse.  Nurse didn't seem too concerned, said it looked fine.  DD was

very upset.  She hadn't gotten much sleep the night before, was starting choir

practice that afternoon after school, and had her first play practice that

night.  I thought it was a combination of all those things, school did, too.

They had the school social worker (dd knows her) talk to her about all those

things, about her anxiety, etc, and REALLY down played her injury.  When she

came home, I taped them together and gave her advil.  She went to school the

next day, then came home and said it hurt so bad, she wanted to go to the

doctor.  So I took her in and, YEP, her finger was broken!!!!  I felt so awful!

She felt vindicated that it was broken!  LOL!  She tends to know her body well

and I should have listened to her and taken her in right away!  This is her

second broken bone

(summer '10 she broke her foot), so she is handling it well.

Oh dear. . .I hate when that happens. Our son has always been one to overreact

to everything, with such drama, that it makes it hard to know when it is

serious.

Glad she is handling it well, at least. But what a bummer to have another

broken bone.
