Guest guest
Went to dd's psych yesterday. OCD symptoms are good right now and we are not on an SSRI. Actually are starting to space out visits. Right now, dd's biggest problem is forgetfulness and messiness and the doctor thinks it is her ADHD. Having a morning teacher and afternoon teacher complete the Vanderbilt survey and returning it in two weeks. At that time, the doctor mentioned either increasing her Vyvanse depending on their response. I am opposed to increasingt he Vyvanse because she does not eat. She is 12 years old and weighs 55lbs. The doctor mentioned possibly changing to Straterra instead. She said it can help with anxiety also. Anyone have a child with co-morbid conditions that is on this medication? What is your experience? Fearful of changing medications because she has been on Vyvanse for years.
Guest guest
No experience with the meds, but can imagine you hate to test out another med if she's been on Vyvanse so long. You'll probably hear both good and bad about Strattera though, also a med that works well for some and not others. So it's the Vyvanse that causes her to lose appetite? Did the doctor say it'd be an easy switch back if Strattera doesn't help more? If so, hopefully couldn't hurt to try the switch! > > Went to dd's psych yesterday. Guest guest
I'm pretty sure that the Vyvanse is the root cause of her not eating. Not that she was a great eater to begin with, but I can see a significant difference in her appetite on days that she forgets to take her meds. > > > > Went to dd's psych yesterday.
