ok, what types of sugar?

Nolan does go through phases and likes to chew on clothes sometimes, his

fingers, not many other objects anymore though. He doesn't eat candy

(cavities), no cake or cookies (soy), no gum (cavities, swallowing & choking),

no cokes, fruit juice is cut with and followed by water, etc. - gosh i sound

mean! The only sugars he gets are from veggies and fruit (no citrus) which are

nutritionally necessary.

Nystatin or Duflican it made him very very hyper. Die off? We could not

continue he was literally running himself into a heap of sweat.

Eliminating sugar or most of it helps to keep yeast at bay as well. Trina

Trina,

My son had a major yeast problem after being put on Septra antibiotic

for one full year to help control ear infections (stupid me agreed to

do this and GAVE him the antibiotics). It took us literally years to

get that problem under control. We used Nystatin for a while (about 8

months), then we switched to Undecyn (a supplement from Thorne Lab)

along with lots of probiotics. We also used Candex (can't remember who

makes it), and Yeast Fighters from Twin Lab. We rotated different

supplements over the years.

You are absolutely right, diet is key. Many people say the SCD diet

has really helped with yeast control.

We use Aquaflora to clean the gut and it works really well. There is a nine

month maintainence program but the gut is clean afterwards. You can get this at

most healthfood stores that have nutrionist.

There is a doctor (homeopath) on the abmd list that talks about

aquaflora a lot, do you like the results? I have never used it, but am

curious about it.

I am extremely pleased with the results. You will not believe what comes out of

the gut. When I had Cody tested the first time he had been on it for almost two

months and the Dr. was surprised that his gut was as clean as it was. The only

thing left in it was the strep.

We tried almost everything on the market to get the yeast under

control with my youngest NT son(4 yrs old). No luck. What finally

did it for us was mega doses of Dannon Activa (the green package)

vanilla flavor. I would give him 3-4 containers a day. I would

alternate days with the Dannon Immunity (yellow package drinkable

yogurt)strawberry flavor 2-3 per day. Within 2 weeks, he started

having normal poops (first in his life). His tummy wasn't bloated

anymore and the smell got better. ha - relative term.

Do I work for Dannon? No. I'm an autism mommy. Do I believe in

their product? yessiree.

You can order it from Lucky Vitamins ( www.luckyvitamin.com ) They are more

reasonable than any place else that I have found it.

Nolan craves yogurt. I only let him have max 2 a day, though because I don't

want him filling up on yogurt and not eating anything else. does it have to be

dannon? - is there something specific that dannon uses that the other yogurt

companies don't?

Dannon has different strains of the live cultures than other

yogurts. I also like the lack of dyes in the vanilla. When my son

would eat Trix Yogurt or the kids Yoplait Dora yogurt it would cause

severe bloating and acid poop/rash.

Mine also wants to eat yogurt all day long, so, when he gets up, 1

yogurt then breakfast. I would send one in his lunch to school, 1

after school as snack (and then something different) and one as

dessert after dinner (and he had to eat most or all of his food or

no yogurt). I also had to hide them in the fridge or he would help

himself. It has been 3 months and I've backed off the amount, but

the results are still with us. hope some of this helps!

Hi ,

We've had great success with a multi-faceted approach, including

Candidase and Candex enzymes, oregano oil, pau D'arco, caprylic acid,

black walnut extract and probiotics.

Where do you purchase all of your yeast products? Or do you need a script?

My DD's DAN! Dr appt. is not until Sept. :( I suspect yeast in my DD due to my

history w/ yeast infections while PG. She also had thrush and endless

yeasty-diaper rashes as a baby & toddler. For myself, it is a never ending

battle for me w/ yeast infecftions and I may want to try these products out for

myself :)

Someone mentioned an at home test. Where do you get it?

Whole Foods.

You can start with Grapefruit Seed Extract.

Make sure it's GrapeFRUIT seed extract and not Grapeseed extract.

Capryl by Solaray is also good but should only be used 3 weeks at a

time.
