Guest guest Posted October 18, 2011 Report Share Posted October 18, 2011 Dear Parents, A FREE treatment program for Arizona families of young children with behavioral, developmental or mental health disorders is being offered by First Things First (FTF) and the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD). Eligibility requirements: • Children aged 0-5 years • Children do not need to have a diagnosis to be eligible. • Families must live in the following zip codes: • 85250 • 85251 • 85253 • 85254 • 85255 • 85257 • 85258 • 85259 • 85260 • 85262 • 85263 • 85264 • 85266 • 85268 • 85269 • 85331 • 38577 Participating families will receive short-term, focused intervention including: • Free childcare provided • Individualizes assessment conducted in the child's home by highly trained behavior specialists • Intervention plans based on assessment results and family needs • Hands-on caregiver training to implement the child's intervention plan • Group caregiver training and support meetings held every two weeks addressing: o Early childhood issues o Common childhood issues o Community resources Common childhood challenges addressed: • Toilet training • Feeding problems • Tantrums • Non-compliance • Pill swallowing • Aggression • Property destruction • Separation issues • Self-injurious behavior • Sleep problems Questions?
