Hi Everyone,

After several years of stuggling without meds we have started Zoloft with my 11

year old son. He is small for his age so looks like an average skinny 9 year

old. Unable to get into a psychiatrist fast enough we have asked the family doc

for help until an appointment comes up. Doc started ds on 25mgs a day (in the

morning) and has set an appointment for 2 months. Does this sound reasonable to

you others working with Zoloft?

Thanks,

Hello. My daughter is 14 and she has been taking zoloft since she was 6. It has

helped her tremendously. 25mgs sounds like a reasonable place to start. My

daughter takes 50, also in the morning, and we have never had to go higher. It

was activating for her at first, but that lessened as she got used to it. It has

also caused sleeplessness, so she takes benadryl or melatonin to help her get to

sleep. Other than that, it has been a godsend. Good luck!
