You coulld start by going on the OCF website and looking to see who is listed

there in the West Palm area- It is a starting point at least. When interviewing

people, ask how they treat OCD- if they dont answer CBT/ERP (Cognitive behavior

therapy/ exposure response prevention), keep looking.

Thanks for the suggestions and I have started there! Hoepfully someone will be

able to recommend a therapist who helped their child.

After a long search for help, we finally found an adolescent psychiatric clinic

at a local hospital. They handle both inpatient and offer a 2 week outpatient

program which has been outstanding. It has been over a year of false starts with

other therapists who stated that they handle anxiety, etc. but clearly were not

prepared for OCD and anxiety disorders. The clinic at the hospital has been very

helpful in helping us to identify the right local resources. May want to check

with your local hospitals.

Subject: Therapist Recommendation in Florida

It seems that finding the right therapist is instrumental to successful

treatment. I am still hoping for a recommendation for my 6 year old

granddaughter near West Palm Beach.
