Tami, aka lexustami

St. Clairsville, OH- Belmont County

Tcalhoun1@...

Reason for joining this group: 2 years ago we bought an 18 acre parcel of

land. Last Spring I started adding my animals to our hobby farm. I want to

live off of the land so right now we raise our own poultry but I hope to

expand to raising our own beef and pork as well. A few months ago I decided

I wanted to make my own cheese and butter. I was shocked when I found out

it was illegal in my state to sell or buy raw milk. I have several local

dairy farmers within a few miles of me and I thought for sure I would be

able to drop by and get some fresh, raw milk. Now I know that isn't going

to happen. I still want raw milk so I've decided to add a dairy cow to my

stock. Maybe a couple of dairy goats as well. I don't have the cow yet

because I'm not sure what I need to get.

Hi Tami

This is what I found on the internet. I hope it might help you.

You could contact them if they are not close to you and ask if there

are other shares available closer to you. Good luck

Thanks Henriette but unfortunately they aren’t anywhere close to

me.

I know these programs are also available in PA but I don’t want

to drive over an hour each way to pick up milk.

Take care,

Tami

have you looked here for sources?

http://www.realmilk.com/where4.html#oh

you could also contact a local WAPF leader for sources of raw dairy.
