It's been a little over 2 weeks since J decreased his zoloft from 200mg to

150mg/day. And it seems that he is more upbeat, laughs and jokes a bit more,

seems almost enthusiastic at times. Maybe the zoloft, maybe just a natural

rhythm, maybe his different sleep schedule, maybe a combination, I won't

overanalyze. I'm going to just enjoy living in the moment and keep a handle on

my expectations.

A few nights ago both boys and I were joking around and I gave the 22 yr old a

big hug and then asked J if I could hug him. Since OCD he has really disliked

being touched by people. If I hugged him (with his permission) he would

immediately stiffen up and turn away.

So on this night he said OK, and although he didn't hug me back, he also didn't

stiffen so much and actually smiled. And he said " Look at that, 6 years of

therapy and I can finally let people touch me! " I didn't make too big a deal of

it because that tends to shut him down but gee was I happy!
