Guest guest Posted January 17, 2008 Report Share Posted January 17, 2008 About a week and a half ago PennY posted about McCarron, who faced a jury this week for the murder of her 3 year old daughter, (2 charges 1st degree murder, 1 charge obstruction of justice, 1 charge concealment of a homicide). Ms McCarron plead not guilty by reason of insanity, claiming that the strain of three days with her daughter, who had lived with her husband and grandparents for 20 months was too much. She focused heavily on curing " the kid " , as she wouldn't name in the end-testimony from 's aunt. She blamed vaccine guilt, not being indistinguishable from peers, said she would rather have a child with cancer or a dead child than an autistic child. And smothered , took her to her grandparents', threw away the garbage bag, got ice cream, and staged a CPR attempt long after the death. Mhm. But it isn't about KAREN. The person who matters here is KATIE. " " McCarron was 3 years old. She was loving and loved. She loved the zoo, being dressed up in cute little outfits and fussed over (like many little girls), the zoo, and cows. She loved elephants. She knew her shapes and colors and loved school. loved to dance and to sing. She brought joy to many. She said " I like grass " and liked flowers, too. In 2006 when 's life was ended so horribly her grandfather hit the autism blogs to tell us about her, because NO ONE was talking about . He also steered autistic advocates in the direction that the family approved of to honor her memory--rather than adopting black armbands, we wore pink ribbons with white hearts & flowers in her memory to several conferences. Many advocates and 's family still wear them. Picking memorial ribbons for a 3 year old is the hardest thing I have ever done. EVER. Today justice was served-all four counts came back guilty. Because it is never ok to kill a child. But that doesn't bring back . May she rest in peace and dance with the angels.
