Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Thank you so much for the warm welcome and understanding. You ladies have probably discovered like me that no teacher, doctor, therapist, caregiver or even husband can replace or even match what we're capable of giving our children. I'd like to offer a helpful tip to anyone who needs more than what they're getting from their child's therapist and medication. I found this book on line and bought and I highly recommend it. It's called " What Do When Your Child has Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder - Strategies and Solutions " . Some excerpts from the book that describe my son to a tee. I've even had my child read them to show him that it's not him being bad but OCD. Thanks, Dawn
Guest guest
Thanks Dawn, always like to hear about the books parents find helpful (and those they don't). I've got a copy of Dr. Adam's book " Students with OCD, A Handbook for School Personnel " and have been reading through it (haven't sat down to read from page 1 yet), and it's great! Of course, I stop on the " scrupulosity OCD " pages since has that. She really " got it " on scrupe. And I can see she covers everything well, types of strategies, accommodations for all, teasing/bullying, etc. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has OCD needs regarding school. May be titled for school personnel, but for parents too! > > Hi Everyone, > > Thank you so much for the warm welcome and understanding.
