Guest guest
Wilma, I'm so happy to hear things are better! I remember how rough it was for you & her, and a lot of things not helping. Glad you found out it was tick related so that she's getting the antibiotics. Now - is that Lyme disease with the bartonella or another tick disease? Wow, a real turnaround for your dd, happy for the improvements! > > my child was sooo sooo sick. nothing was working. finally we are seeing good things happen. it has been 3 months of steady progress. not sure what next month will look like, but for now its the best she has ever looked. she has tested possitive for bartonella hensly. it is a tic born illness. she has been on antibiotics for 3 months. she is not violent anymore...she sleeps (severe insomnia was the worst)
Guest guest
Thanks so much. Right noe she just tested positive for bartonella which is a co-infection and caused by a tic. > Wilma, I'm so happy to hear things are better! Guest guest
Wilma, I'm so glad for you and your daughter. I remember your posts last fall, all the trials and failings you had with psych meds, your initial investigations into PANDAS and eventual discovery of Lyme/Bartonella. You are an inspriation in determination and perseverance. As the mother of a child whose OCD has also been linked to PANDAS and Bartonella, I just want to take a moment to encourage those who haven't explored the possiblity that an infection or autoimmune disorder is at the route of the OCD symptoms, to do so. Even if you have pursued PANDAS through strep tests that have come back negative, there are still many other infections, such as mycoplasma pneumonia, mycoplasma ferentans, Lyme and other tick borne illnesses such as Bartonella, Ehrlichiosis, Babesiosis, etc. that could be causing a lot of the problems. In fact, we are seeing more and more children who are diagnosed with PANDAS eventually discovering they also have a tick borne illnes. These children live all over the country...even in areas where Lyme is said not to exist...like Texas and many never showed any physical evidence of a tick bit or traditional physical Lyme symptoms. Many of the mothers of these children are also testing positive for these infections, making us question whether some of it is passed in-vitro. (Personally, I have not been tested yet, but will be going to the doc tomorrow and requesting tests. I feel like I have enough of the symtpoms myself, such as anxiety, mood swings, etc., to warrant investigating.). If you have any questions about where to begin, please let me know and I'll try to help get you in the right direction. Again, Wilma, Congratulations and best wishes for continued improvement.
