Guest guest
They gave Risp in the inpatient as soon as he arrived and didn't want to put on the clothes that I brought for him. Started at .25. He did fine on that until Dad came into unit, then he wouldn't go to bed, so they added .25 in morning and he calmed back down. Then Dad went into bedroom on unit and son wouldn't go to bed and they added .25 more. The R. is what they chose to calm down the anxiety and delusions, as they called them. They gave me a scrip for R. under the tongue as needed here at home but I haven't had to use it at all!!! There's just been one night when he seemed to be sinking back down into getting glued to his computer and not going to bed. It was after going out to Grandpa and Grandma's where they both hugged him, which is a big issue for him. But hallelujah he worked through it. I had the R. in my pocket but never had to get it out. Based on what you said, it must be the R. that's the problem. It's supposed to be for schizophrenia, I've read! How do I get him off of it? His new refill scrip for the evening is no longer .5 tablets, now it's all .25 and I am supposed to give him two. Could I cut back to one at night immediately or do I have to shave off a little at a time? Yeah, I think he will need meds for quite awhile but I'd like to reach the minimum dose. Thanks, .
