Guest guest
Roy is ADD, also not hyperactive either. He has trouble with organizing, hyperfocusing on certain projects, appears " not there " sometimes. Anyway, he is now on Adderall XR 30 mg., Fluoxetine 50 mg., Busbar. He has been on the Adderall dosage for almost 3 years now. The Fluox. we had to move up this year from 30 to 50 and also added the Busbar when his rituals got so bad. This is working for us. He is 17, 5'9, 140. He tried Concerta and Ritalin and they both were not working. Also Lexapro didn't work. My daughter is taking Adderall and Zoloft together. I don't know how old your son is but as the academic preassure increases, the ADD is more challenging. Hope this helps. > ** > > > I feel like I am playing a game of whack a mole. Guest guest
Lexapro did not work for my daughter either and she got significantly depressed on it after a few weeks. Prozac is the one that activated her. If we have to go on another SSRI, the plan is to try Zoloft. Straterra though has been determined to sometimes help with anxiety and depression also. And so far my dd is not having any OCD episodes unless she is hiding them well. > > > ** > > > > > > I feel like I am playing a game of whack a mole. Guest guest
Do you feel like her mood is better with the ADD meds? Thanks for the input, everyone. Will be discussing on our upcoming appt. > > > > I feel like I am playing a game of whack a mole. Once I think I get one area contained, another pesky area of difficulty emerges. Guest guest
Her mood has gotten significantly better since starting Straterra. She is more motivated, gets ready for school better, and she is reminding me of her activities now which is great because my own memory sucks. She has only been on Straterra for three weeks but I can tell a difference. Also, her appetite has improved which is wonderful because she just reached the 60lb mark and is 13 years old and 58 " tall. > > > > > > I feel like I am playing a game of whack a mole.
