Hi all, Im a 31 year old mother of 4 kidos. My oldest daughter is 10 and in 5th

grade. My oldest son is 8 and in 2nd grade. My youngest daughter Ky is also 8

and in 2nd grade. My little guy is 4 and in pre-school. Ky is my one that im

here for. I knew she was ADHD from the time she could walk. I was able to

finally get her diagnosed and medicated when she was 4 years old. It wasnt till

she was about 6 that I realized that she had OCD. Those hoarding shows came on

Tv and my husband and I were watching a few and just kept looking at each other

going thats Ky. OMG thats her, she is just like them. So I told her Psych about

what we had been seeing with her and how we saw the shows on tv and realized

thats what was going on with our little girl. It was managable at first, I could

work her through tossing stuff. It was a struggle but we could do it. As time

went on I started learning more from reading online and realized she had been a

hoarder since she was little!! Like one year old little. It was just different

because she didnt have acess to the stuff these adults on tv did. Money, trash,

stuff like that. But she had ahcess to toys and stuffed animals and they all

ended up in her bed. I have pictures from when she was little sleeping on top of

MOUNDS of toys. We didnt realize the other wierd stuff she did was OCD too. Like

picking the skin off her feet till they bled. I would have to take her to the

Dr. to get put on antibiotics. It hapened over and over but we didnt get why

then. She was so little like 2 years old. We never would have thought OCD. Now

it all clicks!! We both have OCD. My husbands is very mild. He does door

checking and is overly organized. Im a clean freak and germ a phobe. I have to

have every thing in its place. But it doesnt interfere with our daily lives. Its

not to the point where if a chair is moved I cant sleep over it. We can

rationalize through it.. So I guess it shouldnt be such a surprise we have an

OCD child right? My husband is also ADHD, so we figured with his family history

we would probably have an ADHD child. We never dreamed we would get one with all

these issues. So its been getting worse and worse with Ky. She has been on

Ritalin since she was 5 and its working great for her. But the OCD is out of

control. Her anxiety is through the roof!! I was able to help her manage her

hoarding for awhile but I dont know how to help her any more. We are trying meds

now. Lexapro made her sick. This weekend we are starting Prozac on her. She

takes 9 other meds daily for her many other medical issues such as the GERD,

Gastritus, Chronic Constipation, Failure to Thrive, Asthma and Allergies, and

her ADHD. Its a lot I know but believe me you pull one med and her health takes

a dive and quick! Her Psych FINALLY called me back after a week (they were in

the process of moving locations and I was not aware) and says we will now be

able to get therapy for her with some one who deals with children who have all

the things going on that she does. I cant wait!! I need to have some onw help me

help her. So thats the short of my story with Ky (Kyla). Shes an adorable energy

filled cuddely little girl who struggles with so much. I just wish the same wish

I sure you all do, that she can reach her full potential what ever that may be

and have a happy life with out all the compulsions and anxiety. I look forward

to reading up on your storys in the quiet moments I have when the house is

sleeping. Tricia
