Guest guest
Oh , that's really wonderful about Roy! I'm glad he enjoyed himself. And like how he is just open, " matter of fact " about his OCD, not making excuses ( " it's not OCD, I just don't want to... " ). What a great bunch of exposures too, glad he managed it all. And feeling ready to travel, wants to look at colleges.... All just wonderful, do enjoy this time, I have a feeling it'll last and last what with his interests perking up to do things! > >at colleges. So, anyway, I never thought we would be here, when he was struggling so much 2 years ago. Prob. some struggles again later, knowing our family, but enjoying the time now. >
Guest guest
Absolutely delighted to hear! Yay, Roy, you are incredible! A successful trip Thought I would post another success with Roy. We went to Cal. to see another son grad. The last trip there 2 years ago, roy had several anxiety meltdowns over every transition, esp. when traveling round. Went to Seattle last summer and he did well, just the two of us. This time, some dif. in airport and frustrations around wanting to spend time with bro. Otherwise, he had minimal OCD rituals and anxiety. He has a dry sense of humor and at one point when I asked if he wanted to get out to see something, he said no because he would have to do all his rituals again. This is good for him b/c he was not upset about it, just matter of fact. He even spent the night in a dorm by himself for a night and rode public transp. with his bro, with many transfers ( and dirty seats to sit on.)stayed in a hostel for the week, talked to people, slept in the bed. Went down to beach and just sat and watched the waves. Even read a book. He said he is ready to travel again and wants to look at colleges. So, anyway, I never thought we would be here, when he was struggling so much 2 years ago. Prob. some struggles again later, knowing our family, but enjoying the time now.
