Guest guest
Hi- I'm so afraid that my 3 yr old daughter will also have OCD like my 7 yr old ....anyone have any thoughts on the sibling having OCD as well? Also my daughter has pretty much been OCD free all summer but if I even mention school I can see her get angry and anxious. I am so afraid to see that OCD come out again, but I'm thankful for a great summer without OCD running our house. Anyone have this experience with their child? Sent from my iPhone > Hi Chris! > Thank You for the warm welcome. I have three girls I was a single mom until about 6 years ago. I've been married now for 3. I'm happy to have my husband help me with my daughter. She actually considers him to be her father. > > The Zoloft is not helping much, but she has only been on them 2 weeks tomorrow. I have a feeling the dose will be going up. She was actually excited about school starting(a distraction)-she's so driven-part of the OCD and everything has to be perfect-another part of OCD. We had no idea it was OCD until we started educating ourselves and putting everything together. We believe this started when she was younger. She has told us thoughts and issues she had when she was younger but was afraid to tell us. Worried we would think something was wrong with her..etc. > > I have already filled out the info for the 504 and returned it. She goes to a very small school(150 kids all together for 7-12th grade). > We are close with all the teachers-there is only 7 of them. We had talked to them prior to school starting. Our first meeting is next week.I feel lucky that she's in the school she is in. > > She has obsessive thinking .... it scared her at first and once we had a diagnoses she read on it and felt a little better but then she had to quit because she started having thoughts about the information she was reading and this became obsessive. She's waiting for the teen yahoo group to accept her. > > Thank You for this group. I've learned quite a bit from the info you have on here in the files. > > Blessings, > > > > > > > > > My name is . I just found out 2 1/2 weeks ago that my 15 yr.old daughter has OCD. We have been through about a month of stress, exhaustion and heartbreak. She saw a psychiatrist and was put on 50 mg of Zoloft. Same medicine I started on as well when I was 17. Her OCD came out of no where. I could identify with it because I have had > > > >
Guest guest
Also what are anyone's thoughts on making the teacher aware of their childs OCD prior to their teacher getting to know him or her? I just don't want that to be he first thing the teacher knows about her but it's important for her to know in case any accommodations need to be made. Thoughts?
