Bob,

How do you feel about the takings clause of the US

Constitution?

If what I have been doing is declared illegal have I

been harmed?

Ever since the late 19th century it has been

determined that protecting the environment is in the

public interest. If I have always let the cows drink

(and poop) in the creek and the public good requires

that I not do that any more I have had something taken

from me. Therefore, those who say that my cows may not

poop (or drink) in the creek should pay. It is not a

simple question.

Here in NC the wise fathers in Raleigh gave Dell

computer a $286,000,000 tax break to build a plant

here. That will amount to $11,000 per year subsidy for

each job created over the next 20 years. And to get a

little closer to home, how about the fall out from the

thousands of illegals or even legal in the chicken

processing plants. Over crowded school, over loaded

emergancy rooms, over loaded jails. I would love to

stand or fall on my own merits, but make the playing

field level for everybody. I can't even get the

required $2 million product liability policy I need to

sell at farmers markets for less than my total sales

volume per year.

Read Salatin's " Everything I want to do is

Illegal " It is a real eyeopener.
