Guest guest
Hi , I (Chris/moderator) know this is a " long-time coming " but finally got another reply. Dr. passed it to Dr. Storch (said she didn't have much experience with hoarding and thought he may have thoughts) and Dr. Storch replied today. So here's Dr. Storch's thoughts on your situation: Sounds like a difficult case --- This child may be best served in a residential setting that focuses on OCD and then moved into a less intensive treatment setting (e.g., outpatient). I've found that the rage/disruptiveness can make it difficult to work on an outpatient basis only sometimes. The places I think very highly of for a 12 year old include Memorial in WI. Hope this is helpful! Warmly, Storch, Ph.D. All Children's Hospital Guild Endowed Chair Associate Professor Departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry & Neurosciences University of South Florida > > Hi > Been here a while but am losing my mind. Basically my 12 1/2 year odl daughter through her ocd/hoarding is completely dictating how we are all living here. She has been an inpatient at bellvue hospital is on 40 mgs prozac (which does nothing as far as I can see, is in day treatment school, has a psychologist and has taken over MY bed becuase I cleaned her room of complete squalor, and I mean huge bags of rotting garbage. Becuase I did that, her attitude is not " an eye for an eye " , you did this to me mom, not I can do whatever. Sleep in
