Guest guest
Crystal, do you have some legal help? Find someone to assist--I don't know if dss will return your children unless you do what they say, including putting one on ritalin. You need to find out legally what your rights are. You might find an advocate here: http://www.yellowpagesforkids.com/ <http://www.yellowpagesforkids.com/> Penny > > hello my name is crystal i havent written in along time alot has gone > on my # chiildren were removed from my home by dss my daughter nina & > has autism and my son christian 3 has autism also they want to return > my boys eventually but not my daughter but one majar issue i am > having is some nuraligist wants to put my little 3 year old on riddlen > (sorry cant spell well) i dont want him on it he is just to young and > litttle he is short for his age i dont know what to do >

Guest guest
Crystal, I feel deeply for you. I am an autistic 30 y/o who became a ward of the court when I was 14, finally. Unfortionately this ment that I spent much of the remainder of my teenage years misdaignosed in Mental health facilities. My mother was not the kind of parent born to deal with an autistic child and abuse was prevalent. However, her intetions were good - if only her patience had held out. Being a product of the system there is much I had to learn after being dropped on my butt, literally, into the world at 18. I have struggled much of my adult life to cope and to try to figure out what was really wrong with me. Now at 30 and in college going for a degree in early childhood education with a focus on special needs and a desire to work with autistic children, I know that I have aspergers syndrome. My mother was able to get the court to give her a percentage of custody. She had either 49 or 51 percent and this gave her a certain amount of say in my care. This was imperative because when I was 16 a doctor tried to diagnose me with MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder.) Had I been labeled as that or any number of other psychotic disorders, I may have well spent my life on sychotrophic medications that completely disabled me. If you can come to some sort of agreement like this with the judge it would benifit you and your doughter greatly. I have seen so many children with out parents fall through the cracks of the system. What my mother did was because I was in the legal end of the system due to running away was to get involved with my case manager. You should also have a case manager for either all of your children or for each child individually. Contact them regarding a case plan or a treatment plan. In most cases, it is within a childs best interst to be reunited with their families; however, there can be mitigating circumstances as there were with me. Contact what any and all agencies in your area available as an advocate for you and for your child(ren). Get involved with all of the members of your childrens treatment team(s). I don't know why you are in the situation you are in, but I can tell you that the best approach with any judge is to let him know that you are not perfect but that you have the best interest of your children in mind. If that means you have to take parenting classes or what ever to remain as much a part of your childrens lives then so be it. My mothers mistake is that she chose not to be directly involved with my treatment. She knew something was wrong with me but would not follow up when I was sent home. When I was in treatment, she was indirectly involved. I wish you good luck and hope for the best outcome for our children and for you. Families should remain together whenever possible, especially when it involves special needs. Who are they going to depend on when they are too old to have guardians and yet so institutionalized to live in the real world? I found my way, but I am 30 doing what most 18 y/o are doing. Again Good Luck, Jessie http://speakup.today.com Please visit my blog to learn more about me and how I came to be. > > > > > > > > hello my name is crystal i havent written in along time alot has > > gone > > > > on my # chiildren were removed from my home by dss my daughter > > nina & > > > > has autism and my son christian 3 has autism also they want to > > return > > > > my boys eventually but not my daughter but one majar issue i am > > > > having is some nuraligist wants to put my little 3 year old on > > riddlen > > > > (sorry cant spell well) i dont want him on it he is just to young > > and > > > > litttle he is short for his age i dont know what to do > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
