Hi Hugh, you got the earlier email (shown below) because you are subscribed to

our group to get " individual emails " so you will see each one.

Did you get any of our PANDAS info when you joined our group? I think it is just

a letter that refers you to our FILES section and a folder on PANDAS OCD there.

But always like for parents to check out the information when they mention any

" sudden " OCD behaviors. It's not always PANDAS as the cause, but just info you

should be aware of (PANDAS OCD is caused by strep, but there are other illnesses

that can also trigger it).

Medication - some children do well with therapy without prescription medication

for OCD. But main thing is to find a therapist experienced in treating OCD in

children. The OCD Foundation has a " search " engine in place at their website

for those therapists who have asked to be listed there. Many children do need

the help of medication too. It's sort of a...quality of life, severity type

decision, I think parents generally know when it is a *must try* for their

children. And then some parents prefer to try some " alternatives " to

prescription meds first, supplements/vitamins, etc.

Just some quick thoughts, glad you found our group! Have you had a chance to

read much about treatment for OCD and OCD in general?

that way unless no other method....
