Guest guest
Alyssa has had a red throat for about two weeks, and we returned to the ped yesterday and had a second throat swab in less than two weeks. Both tests have been negative for strep. The ped ordered bloodwork for mono (and Alyssa handled the bloodwork like a pro--the q-tip in the throat is getting to be more and more difficult to accomplish, tho). When the ped saw her earlier in the month, Alyssa also had an ear infection and some impetigo on her face, and both of them are cleared up now. Are there viruses we're seeing (could this be PANDAS) that I could research? I've stepped back from DAN! and biomed and am not as current as I used to be. Are there natural remedies for mono? (We have a few days to wait to hear from the lab.) I remember having it in elementary school--it took a couple of months for me to get better. I know there's no treatment for it. Thanks, Penny
Guest guest
Hi Penny, Does she have an enlarged spleen and swollen glands on the back of her neck? Those are pretty much standard with classic mono. I had what my doctor classified as as " mono-like " virus when I was in college. There are quite a few of those, so if she does not have classic mono, chances are that's what she's got. You CAN kill this thing, and so much the better if Alyssa is cooperative with supplements. I cured mine in a very short period of time with high dose vitamin C (sodium ascorbate or you can use plain ascorbic acid powder), olive leaf extract and garlic, plus milk thistle to support the liver. Milk thistle is great for mono and related viruses. Give vitamin C every hour or two to bowel tolerance to find the correct dosage, and keep consistent with this. I would give olive leaf three times per day. If she likes fresh garlic, so much the better. She should really SMELL like garlic if she's had enough. Milk thistle should be given at approximately 1/3 the adult dosage per day. I have no doubt you can beat this if she will tolerate these supplements. Most important is the vitamin C. If you can get that into her consistently, that will really help. > Alyssa has had a red throat for about two weeks, and we returned to > the > ped yesterday and had a second throat swab in less than two weeks. > Both > tests have been negative for strep. Guest guest
Ok. She can still have one of the related viruses, or atypical mono. In any case, that protocol I outlined WILL kill it. > > Doc said speen and liver feel normal size. > > > > > >> >>> Alyssa has had a red throat for about two weeks, and we returned to >>> the >>> ped yesterday and had a second throat swab in less than two weeks. >>> Both >>> tests have been negative for strep.
