Hello all, I am new to the group. I have a 12 year old Aspie son who is doing

great. My 10 year old daughter is recently...challenging. She had clothing

issues since very young, wearing the same 2-3 shirts & pants for weeks/months.

She went months last spring with her hair in a ponytail & wouldn't brush it out.

She had to take baths this summer because the shower didn't get her clean

enough. There was a 6 month period last year when she would spend 20 minutes (at

least) in the bathroom wiping. She started with a counselor in July, now (her

words) things are out of control. She can't sleep in her bed unless she is on

top of a mountain of pillows & blankets because she is uncomfortable. She

becomes hysterical if I have to wash her clothes. She can't wear pajamas at

night. She only has 1 pair of yoga pants she will wear. She can't wear

underwear. I can't watch her leave her bedroom in the morning. I can't tell her

I like her hair or clothes or she runs out of the room screaming. The list goes

on & on. At school, she is a perfect role-model, A+ student.

So now we're trying to pinpoint what to treat. The therapist is stumped between

SPD, OCD and Anxiety. After this weekend, I'm really leaning towards OCD,

because when things go wrong she has to start from the beginning again. Bedtime

is becoming awful, and getting anywhere on time is non-existent.

So sorry for the long post, but I'm hoping to get ideas & such from the group.

Ideas regarding good eval & treatment in Michigan will be especially

appreciated. I'm not even sure where to start with everything, so I'm just going

to start researching. Thanks for listening!

D
