What's really scary is that they suspended house rules to cut debate

short on this, which is supposed to only be done for uncontroversial

bills. Sounds just like what happened here in California with AB 1735

.. . . Of course, an overwhelming majority of representatives voted in

favor of it -- what is this world coming to? Ron was evidently

out of town for the vote, or, he says, he would have opposed it.

Do you think writing letters to Congress will even help on this one,

though, with the bugaboo of " terrorism " supporting it?

YES! We MUST write our senators!! If they don't hear from their constituents, they don't know how we feel about it!!!! This is one of the reasons this country is in the mess it is in!!! Too many people don't take the MOMENTS necessary to let their elected representatives know how they feel, what they want and what they DON'T want. PLEASE! Contact your senators. You can find them here: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/directory/congdir.tt You can also go here: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/issues/bills/?billtype=S. & billnumb=1959 & congress=110 and click on the little red "Take Action Now" button. It's EASY!You can even go here: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd?vote=h2007-993 to see exactly how your congressperson voted (there are a FEW people out there who voted correctly). You can click on their name and go to the info page on them. Most have a link to their websites too. There are TONS of websites that track what the morons in congress are doing and make it SOOO EASY for citizens to make their voices heard.PLEASE! Take a moment and vocalize your opinion! YOUR OPINION MATTERS!!> Do you think writing letters to Congress will even help on this one,> though, with the bugaboo of "terrorism" supporting it?

Done--thanks for the great links, they make it a lot easier.

I suppose I should say I always try to write to whoever I can when I

become aware of something like this. I believe that is why we are

getting somewhere with AB 1735 in California, but we still have some

distance to go.
