Guest guest
I get zero and I am about to jump off of a bridge...wait, I am wrong. Four. I get four hours of respite per month from a group that we belong to- once a week a teenager comes here and plays with my daughter for an hour. From where do you get respite? Guest guest
We didn’t even KNOW about respite care until November, and by the time our caseworker got us set up on it, we only get 1-1/2 months of it because Melody turns 3 next month. We got 20 hours for February and we get 10 hours for March because that’s when she turns 3. My husband works, but I don’t. (Not OUTSIDE of our home anyhow!) Guest guest
I live in California. I had never heard of it before November either.I would check if I were you!! I feel like my caseworker sort of " forgot " to tell me on purpose or something if you know what I mean! Lynn Shoop www.mycmsite.com/lynnshoop Re: Respite Hours I live in AZ & I get 60hrs respite/month or 700 some for the year. It rolls over each month so if I don't use it one month, it keeps rolling over until the end of the year. I'm one of the " older " families though & I don't know if being known in the autism community & with Jim being active with our state agency that they are not giving us a hard time about hours. With the state deficit, I know many families are getting hours cut. In AZ, we also get habilitation hours (can be used for ABA), but doesn't pay for consultants. With the state deficit, I know many families are getting hours cut. In AZ, we also get habilitation hours (can be used for ABA), but doesn't pay for consultants. AZ doesn't have many certified providers (BCBA, BCABA) but it's better than nothing. Guest guest
Its not available in PA. We were going to move to Delaware because there we could get respite services throught the school they told us but our house never sold so we have given up at least for now. I wish so bad we had respite here in PA. Karin where in pa are you? Its so nice to have someone in the same state as me. Re: Respite Hours I live in AZ & I get 60hrs respite/month or 700 some for the year. It rolls over each month so if I don't use it one month, it keeps rolling over until the end of the year. I'm one of the " older " families though & I don't know if being known in the autism community & with Jim being active with our state agency that they are not giving us a hard time about hours. Guest guest
Wait, you're in CA, right? Why do her respite hours end when she turns 3? All the kids I work with get respite through the Regional Center and only one of them is under 3. Your EI service coordinator might not know if they continue, but they should. You'll get a new case worker when she turns 3, right? I would definitely ask them as soon as you know who it is. Guest guest
Yeah, they have a way of doing that with a lot of stuff. You know the RC pays for diapers after age 3, right? That's one that a lot of my families haven't been told. I always remind people to ask Amnesty > > > > Hi, I was wondering how many hours of respite you guys are getting. Guest guest
Is the respite from the MR? I don't think it's available without MR. In a message dated 2/29/2008 5:41:46 P.M. Years ago we used to get $1000.00 a calendar year; however, as the demand for help increased and the money allotted to Pa dwindled, it has come down over the years. Guest guest
In RI its relatively new for those on the autism spectrum. I believe its 100 hours every 6 months, and you can use them however you want. In ri you have to go through CEDARR which is basically a middle man for all services < part of DHS > I have the forms, but having applied yet. I'm a single, stay at home, home schooling mom but my older two children typically ahve been the ones I use to babysit.
