Guest guest Posted October 31, 2011 Report Share Posted October 31, 2011 Been awhile since I posted. I have 2 sons with anxiety. Both are doing so much better with treatment. Thanks to all in this group for helping me keep my sanity during some dark days. You were the friends I could turn to when no one understood. My younger son, now 15, has been in treatment for over 3 years. He has a new psychologist who is using " mindfulness " – very similar to ERP, but you try to redirect your thoughts, to focus on something present. Very Zen. This link explains it pretty well. Anyway, for those who haven't heard of it, may be a new tool to help. My son is progressing, slowly as always, but it is a strong tool for him to use his entire life. I remember too this was something my son's therapist used with him and he still uses when he feels the anxiety monster creeping in.
