We have used both prozac and zoloft. Prozac mad e him suicidal and impulsive and

zoloft just impulsive and over aggressive- fighting, swearing, stealing etc at

doses over 50 mg. WE had to endure it for a couple years but then have been able

to drop his dose in recent years.

Hi!

My daughter began her treatment with Zoloft. We didn't notice much help with

the OCD and when we hit 100mg, she got aggressive. The least little thing would

set her off and she actually took a swing at me one day! She is normally a

completely passive person. We backed her down to 75 and the aggressiveness

disappeared. But we eventually switched to Lexapro, which has maintained some

semblance of normal life for her and us.

was starting to cry alot and had more bizarre behavior and talked about cutting

herself. She then started on Zoloft a week later. She still has anxieties but

again is starting with bizarre behavior. I have read people having success with

Zoloft but has anyone had problems with bizarre behavior or other negative

effects. Thanks

Thanks for input we are torn between just taking her off the Zoloft and see what

happens with our new therapist or to keep increasing the dose as I've read

people having success with higher doses. My husband feels the Zoloft increases

her " weirdness " but I'm not sure if it's just OCD changing. She's on 50mg now.

For example she went from " normal " OCD worries such as whether I'd forget her at

school or some kid touched me is it all over me to this obsession with living

without technology and wanting to live in rainforest. she will sit outside

barefoot by the trees for hours, won't use computer, microwave, telephone, open

the fridge, just nutty behavior. We're just not sure if that's meds or OCD.

THANKS
