Guest guest
Hi, I thought I posted this before but now can't find it or any replies, so am posting it again. Has anyone noticed a weight gain in conjunction with adding inositol? My daughter started taking one pill (500 mg) back in February daily with the intention of increasing slowly. She complained early on of stomach upset which seemed to ease up later, BUT she's put on at least 20 more pounds! I had her stop the inositol recently just to see if there was any noticeable effect and she said she was really tired the two days she's been off it. Not sure what to do at this point, but wondered if anyone has seen weight gain with the inositol? She's also on 10mg of Lexapro and that in itself caused a 30-lb gain, so 20 more is not a good thing! Guest guest
Thanks, and Chris! It's very frustrating! I'm considering getting her off Lexapro anyway as it doesn't seem to be " working " anymore at the current dosage. I'm afraid to increase for the weight gain issue, thinking of asking the doc to switch her to Prozac or something more " time-tested " . I'm also in a quandary about increasing the inositol because as you said, it " might " be boosting the weight-gaining effects! She's seeing a counselor, but not an OCD specialist. But she runs out of things to say, she says. She's not really the type of person to just talk and talk. The OCD therapists are 2 hours away and not on our insurance, a long, ongoing issue. She does school and softball, and none of these therapists do weekend appts. Don't want to take away her softball; she loves being part of the team even if she doesn't play much. It also keeps her mind focused on something other than the OCD. What to do, what to do......
