Guest guest
Hi, I thought I posted this before but now can't find it or any replies, so am posting it again. Has anyone noticed a weight gain in conjunction with adding inositol? My daughter started taking one pill (500 mg) back in February daily with the intention of increasing slowly. She complained early on of stomach upset which seemed to ease up later, BUT she's put on at least 20 more pounds! I had her stop the inositol recently just to see if there was any noticeable effect and she said she was really tired the two days she's been off it. Not sure what to do at this point, but wondered if anyone has seen weight gain with the inositol? She's also on 10mg of Lexapro and that in itself caused a 30-lb gain, so 20 more is not a good thing! Guest guest
Hi Debbie, I don't recall anyone else mentioning weight gain with inositol, nor have I read about it. My son has been on it for almost 3 yrs and has always been on the thin side. He's currently taking about 7 grams a day, which is still considered quite low, but his OCD is almost non-existent at this point. 500 mgs is really low (you may want to switch to powder which may be easier on her stomach, and you can get to a higher dose much easier than with a lot of pills). We've always used Source Naturals and purchase it online because it's cheaper that way. Hope this helps.
