I don't know what will happen if there is a next time. I know that I will not

send it back signed. I hope the assistant principal will talk with the teacher

and let her know what I have no intention of signing them. They still don't see

the " big picture " though.

As for my older son, . He is currently finishing up his 2nd semester of

community college in graphic communications. In his senior year, he went to the

vocational school for graphic communications. The school offered him a job in

the printing dept. for the summer. He went back as a post-grad for graphic

communications 2. He LOVED it. Received 2 scholarships for college-that he wrote

on his own!!!!! (for those who don't know, he has asperger's syndrome, too.) He

was asked to work for them summer again in 2011 and they had so much work, that

they kept him on part-time and has continued to work there part-time (2x's a

week.) The rest he spends in class.

He doesn't drive, but he has learned to ride the commuter bus on his own. He put

his semester of classes together and has embraced college life head on! He will

work again full-time for the school in the printing dept. and go to the

community college again in the fall. He hopes to transfer to a university after

his 2nd year and do graphic communications or may switch majors to graphic

design. Still hasn't decided.

Still having some major asperger's issues, but, for the most part, he has fewer

episodes of anxiety and his ocd symptoms are few. I owe a HUGE part of his

success to the autism specialist that was his case manager from 10-12th grades.

He was the first person that ever understood my son and knew EXACTLY how to deal

with him. Got him to advocate for himself and gave him the skills to do so. The

graphic communications teacher also gave him the encouragement and really made

him feel he was worth something which has allowed him to become a success. Two

of his art designs were used for advertisements. One car show company chose his

design to advertise the event. It was really cool to go around a local town and

see his artwork posted in different stores!

My youngest ds has been diagnosed with adhd, and I am curious to see if any

co-morbid issues arise with him. The adhd has been a struggle enough. Top that

with my dd's ocd/school issues and I certainly have my hands full. Keeps me

busy. Full-time job. Craziness. The therapist told me that I have enough

experience to have a degree in social work! Ha!

Thanks for asking. I will certainly be glad when this year is over for my dd.

And then I get to start with my ds in Kindergarten with the adhd. Thankfully

I've had a great/super pre-school teacher for him that is familiar with adhd and

has accommmodated him well. Only hope the K teacher is as accommodating. One can

hope.
