my 13 yr old son has extreme anxiety, and OcdRituals that can go on all

day..........he also has aspergers to add to the confusion, we are trying

inositol, have found tablets of 650mg,taking 3 a day but can see no improvement,

in fact it seems OCDs are worse but that maybe stresses at school too, he is a

large 13yr old,can we do more of these tablets? it says 1 to 3 on the

bottle.........or has anyone found the powder more effective?

He sees a therapist also to help with anxiety related to aspergers, sometimes

they work on tackling the rituals but not always, and now weeks have gone by

with no meetings because of school holidays etc, but the rituals are amping

up,he constantly asks for reassurance and leaving for school is becoming a

nitemare,he stands at the door repeating the same phrases very loudly, he also

does it when moving from room to room in the house, i usually get

impatient.......then I feel bad the rest of day, it was like this last year at a

different school, we moved schools, and now here it is back again, he is always

worrying about being ill, thinks he has brain tumor, or that im going to die,

any illness he hears about he says he has, and it just takes over enjoying

anything else, i just dont know what to do some days, i dont want to give up

hoping this behaviour will improve but it has gone on for so long now,and each

thing that gets better a new one takes its place............I know with

aspergers children there is a lot of anxiety, but i know others who do not have

this, or indeed any type of OCD, im sad my son has so much going on and it is

causing problems with his friendships now, when he was younger it didnt seem

noticable, thinking maybe thats an age/puberty thing too?? any thoughts? ideas

that may help? thanks Maree
