Guest guest
Greetings All! Chef Jem in Northern California. I initially founded the Gold Country WAPF Chapter. I love lots of raw butter! I can be reached at: chef@... There is uncertainty here in California as to whether an estimated 30,000+ customers and lovers of commercially available raw milk may continue to purchase this wondrous food of choice in their retail markets. Many of you already know what I am talking about so I'll cut to " the chase " . I believe the situation requires credible educational outreach at the grass roots level. I also believe that raw milk survival in most if not all the other States requires a lot more grass roots community support. I think there are many ways this can be developed. Here's one idea I am offering. Most raw milk lovers can invite friends over, who currently buy the other " milk " , and together watch: " The Raw Milk Controversy: Fact & Fiction " DVD and then after the viewing enjoy a " glass " of real milk (and maybe with a couple macaroon cookies ;^)! That's essentially the " program " , a 98' conversation between Mark McAfee, founder and owner of Organic Pastures Dairy and Dr. Dale son, DC who has been encouraging the inclusion of raw dairy for his patients over the last three decades. The DVD will introduce the " neophytes " to the history of milk and under what circumstances pasteurization came into the commercial dairies and why. They will begin to hear of many healthy cultures that have been sustained since biblical times on raw milk and soon realize that it is real milk varieties that " does a body good " and why this is so! I would love to be proven wrong about this but so far I don't think there is a marketable demand for this DVD through the typical commercial channels. I think the DVD will make for an interesting introduction inside of the " controversy " and that this really needs to be shared in people's homes with friends. I'm seeking milk lovers who feel and think the same on this and especially ones who would like to take part in co-creating " more grass roots community support " . One way I see this can happen is for interested individuals to get duplication rights for their " regions " and begin distributing the DVD directly to the milk lovers in their area. I have uploaded two five-minute clips at the major Internet video sites that can be found by searching " The Raw Milk Controversy: Fact & Fiction " and I have a link below to a quality archive that also allows for downloads. Please comment! If the DVD can play a part in our educational outreach then I imagine the members of this forum will play a supporting role in developing the networks. The very best of good fortunes to you all throughout this new year: 2008!
