Guest guest
Yikes- the ex lives there! We were actually there for a week over last Memorial Day to visit him and it was truly magnificent there. We stayed close to the Padres stadium (Daddy Wonderful works there and lives a block away) and it was...amazing. I wasn't expecting to like it there so much. Why are you moving?? What are services like there? I have noticed that lots of top-notch autism specialists/researchers seem to be from that area. In a message dated 3/19/2008 10:01:11 P.M. Guest guest
Hi Sondra, I get depressed when it rains, want to stay in bed all day. I don't cry much any more now that I take anti-depressants. And I too suffer from migraines. WAY too many. I get at least 4 - 6 migraines every month. The cause is from a few different things, hormones (I get them with my period), certain foods, and weather changes too. My joints also ache when it's rainy. I keep asking my Dr. if it's arthritis but he keeps telling me no, so I don't know why they hurt when it rains, but they do. You are not alone! Guest guest
It's changes in barometric pressure that cause headaches, achy joints and the like. Nerve endings are very sensitive to pressure changes, like with weather and on airplanes, etc. > Hi Sondra, > > I get depressed when it rains, want to stay in bed all day. Guest guest
Being around water like that is just the most soothing thing in the whole world. When I was growing up our beach house was on the bay and we had a dock...I could sit on that dock for days and days listening to the water making that noise- the sound of it " kissing " the piers holding up the dock, the light shimmering across it at night...I am not on the spectrum but I totally understand why my daughter and so many other people on the spectrum find it so irresistible. Oddly enough though, I also get really seasick very easily if I am on a small boat doing anything other than tearing through the water at a very high rate of speed. But then my ex dragged me on a cruise about 4 years ago and while I had problems in a few areas like the dining room (they moved our table and I was fine), our room at night- OMG!!!! We slept with the balcony doors open (there was a screen) and between hearing the " swoosh " of the water as the ship cut through it, the sea air, and that subtle bobbing while I was in bed...I slept like a baby. A baby in a womb- lol. There is something very special about these bodies of water, that's for sure. Karin In a message dated 3/19/2008 10:29:26 P.M. Guest guest
I actually lived in Phoenix for three years, and it was the best three years of my life. I was at my healthiest, both physically and mentally. It's ALWAYS sunny there! I moved from Phoenix to Detroit, which has the most CLOUDY days (worse than Washington State), and my depression just nose-dived there. I was ALWAYS crying and sad and sick. At least here in Northern California, it's a happy (or sort of happy) medium! My migraines are pretty infrequent & so much milder, it doesn't even compare. So, ladies, think about moving out to AZ for your health. -- Marie A. Guest guest
Dear Sondra and the gang: I've heard that walking down the beach is physically theraputic because of the ions from the ocean waves as they hit the beach. Have you ever heard of a ionic foot bath? They say that ionic foot baths have a similar effect on the body as a walk along the beach. Darby's mom Edmonton, Alberta is called sunny alberta because we get quite a bit of sun for such a northern city. But the ocean is really far away.... sondra wrote: I to want to live where the weatehr is of around 70-80's daily all year round. I to feel the best when at myrtle beach.
