Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for sharing your experience. It is good to hear, yet again, from another woman who says she has seen at least some relief from her sypmtoms after explantation. , I have not had my implants removed at this point. I only made the connection between my implants and my myriad of symptoms about 3 weeks ago. I have already had a consult with a PS at the Mayo Clinic here in ville, FL. He was not sympathetic about the issue of implants and various symptoms being related. At the time of the consult, I didn't even know about the 'en bloc' procedure so I didn't get to ask specifically about that. I question whether or not he would see the absolute need to be sure to remove all debris--or the need for antibiotics. He told me to stop taking everything for at least 3 weeks prior to surgery (that would be my multiple vitamin, calcium + 'D', vita. 'E'[anti-oxident], glucosamine and chondroitin [for my stiff, achy joints] and Excedrin with caffeine and aspirin [for my nasty headaches--this I clearly understand because of aspirin's blood thinning quality which can lead to bleeding problems] The others I would debate the necessity--in fact, I think that without them I will lose a lot of good stuff my body will need at the time it needs it most.) Right now, every day of waiting feels like a week. I am going to call Dr. Nezami's office tomorrow and see if I can't have my consult with him moved up from May 13th. (I feel fortunate that one of the physicians on the " recommended " list is in my immediate area.) Each day, today being no exception, I feel worse. I will try to keep you all up to date on what is going on. I know we all benefit when we share. K
Guest guest
OH PLEASE BE CAREFUL don't go to any PS WHO DOES NOT BELIEVE IN IMPLANTS AND ILLNESS, just don't do it whatever you do, this is my firm opinion and belief, I wouldn't trust this man unless you have some really good references that he has performed en bloc explants, have you thought about Dr Kolb, she is in Atlanta and posts on this group, she is experienced. I used Dr Feng, she is awesome as well as Dr Huang so think about it, at this point another couple of weeks to get this done right won't make as big a difference as it will if you get it done wrong. Trust me, I have been where you are, I went back and forth with what surgeon to use, but in the long run, I didn't care about the $$$ I came up with what I needed and I have had good results, cosmetically and health wise, I firmly believe that I would still be majorly ill had I gone to an inexperienced ps who did not believe my illness even existed, who else will take the time to care to remove everything, trust me it can be so tedious to remove some implants, you didn't mention if yours are textured or smooth or gel, but trust me, please be careful with your choice in a PS. I have heard rumors that the mayo clinic is heavily funded by DOW chemical, though I do not know it to be fact. Again girl, you can get better, just hang in there and be smart about things you will get well, I live a full and active life, most of the time I am good, I still have some pain and some issues but nothing like before, and I can usually attribute them to something I am doing wrong like eating wrong, taking medications, etc etc. Ok then girl hang in there.
