Guest guest
I am so very glad I found this support group. I am struggling with a 10year old son, who was diagnosed with OCD. He was getting CBT from Sept-Dec, but it didn't help him very much and also the OCD was not full blown at that time. Since Dec his OCD came on with a vengence. School refusal is vey prevalent and just trying to get him there is a huge struggle. It is very sporadic, Forgethomework, he just freezes up. I am working with the school to get him an IEP but that is just starting. We were advised to put him on Zoloft (which) we did about 2 months ago - he started out on 25mgs, then went to 50mgs. We saw s big change in the compulsions but the school anxiety was still very prevelant. His psy. increased the dosage to 75mgs yesterday. We have a new therapist lined up to help him next Monday. I wanted to see if anyone else is stuggling with this and how they are managing. Bribes don't work for him and he would rather sit doing very little in the house. He is a darling boy but his defiance is strong because of the OCD. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all so much. JJ
