My 9yr old son, anxiety, OCD, aspergers ( or PDD depends who you talk to) he is

on .50 ( doc wants to raise it to .75) of Risperdal, 25 mg of zoloft( was 50mg)

and 2mg meletonin. He is tapering off Zoloft from 50mg to 25mg for a month then

off. His doc and I both thought it want doing anything or having a negative

effect. Since school ended he has been verbally abusive to me, threatening to

kill me to kill himself, weepy for no reason, rages, no reason. Nothing brings

him happiness or peace it seems. Then out of the blue things will be calm for a

bit. he will not to this around his dad. He is afraid of his dad. He has been

iorrational and today he actually went and got a butter knife saying he was

going to cut me inot pieces ( I have told his doc everything except the knife as

this just happened). I don't know if this is from lowering the med, it has only

been three days the first day he was actually good, the best he has been in

awhile, the next two were hell. He has been awful since June though, threats,

hitting, etc. I have also found out his dad and his dad's rages ( not happening

at the moment) are a paart of all this and that I am also dealing with somestic

violence ( he would yell, throw things and slam doors and be mean). So there is

another piece of the puzzle. I don't know what is med related and how to

preserve my sanity during the hours of insults from this kid. And attacks. I

have told his counselor and doc everything so they know what they are dealing

with but not much help there. Have to rely on community mental health due to

insurance. Thanks and soory for the length of this!
