Anybody here whose child is on clonidine?  My son has been on it now for 2

weeks, in addition to Luvox.  It's not really for OCD, more for ADD, but since

I've wondered if he could have that, too, we thought we'd try it and see if it

helped at all.  He does seem calmer and a bit more focused, but cranky!  He has

been irritable, much more so than his normal, since the day he began taking it.

The OCD seems worse.  He says it doesn't make him feel weird (like the Geodon

did) and the psychiatric nurse practitioner who suggested it says it has few

side effects.  I basically refused the other atypical antipsychotics after our

horrible experience with Geodon.  Has anyone else had a bad experience with one

atypical antipsychotic, but then improvement with another one?  She said she

wanted to stay with the Luvox, because he did get improvement on it, and a

30-50% reduction in symptoms or their " volume " is all you can really expect from

the SSRI.  We go

back to see her again Wed.  I am open to any suggestions!  Thanks for

listening.
