Guest guest
- How did your husband's BP affect son's OCD? We have that issue here and some of son's fear is related to dad's acting out. How do you work with it all? Guest guest
Oh yes, the major influence on Roy's OCD and anxiety. Between the ADD and the fluctuating moods, Roy has said he must watch my husband's mood all the time to figure out how he should act or when he can talk to him. When my husband feels out of control for whatever reason, he tries to control Roy. My hus. escalates very quickly. Then Roy is not one to blow him off and he tries to defend himself, which eventually results in some huge consequence like no car for a month. Of course after he thinks about it, he apologizes and removes the consequence. Another is not paying attention to his grades online (like I do) and then freaking out when he finds out he is not measuring up. Expectations are way too high and no recognition for his accomplishments. The ironic thing though is that another son is home now b/c of a psychotic break, since Jan. After my son came home, Roy's OCD and anxiety is better. His therapist thinks that my husband is taking the preassure off of Roy and letting him be. My husband has also had to look at his own BP b/c he has had to talk about it so much to my BP son's pdocs. So if your son is like mine and doesn't like to be controlled and stands up for himself, it makes life difficult for everyone. My BP son is more introverted and does not try to control other people. Maybe the controlling thing happens more with the more extroverted types. > ** > > > - > > How did your husband's BP affect son's OCD?
