Guest guest
New here My nephew has Aspergers. Upon learning about this it has made me wonder about my children. Maybe I am worry too much. However my youngest was speech delayed. They once wondered if she had Autism. However now that she can talk they say she interacts too mcuh. I often wonder though. She is 3.5 and just started really talking in sentances. In public she shuts down. She refuses to talk to people. I often tell people she is just shy. However deep with in I wonder. She also has this blank stare too. When she does something wrong and you ask her why she did that or tell her to say she is sorry for hurting another child, she will just stare this blank stare. No one will take it seriously and they say she is fine. Developmentaly she is right where she should be and was too smart for Jeep program. A program that takes special needs preschool. She tested out of the program even though teachers where worried about her at first. Once she got to know them she talked. That is how she is she won't talk to others out side her comfort zone. She acts so much like my nephew its scarey. She sneaks into things. She has chewed up her bed. Literaly chewed the wood like a puppy. She is destructive too. she will break things and riped the wall paper off the wall in her room. In church she refuses to interact with the other children. She won't sing or participate. But at home she sings the songs just fine. Now then for my next Oldest Daughter she has always been smart. We never worried about her at all tell now. She has always been clumsy. However she also has fine moter skill problems and can't cut with scissors she is 8 years old. After several tests because she can't read. I am finding out she has auditory processing disorder and sensory intergration and we worry because she has a hard time making friends. She was very shy as a kid too. She still can be. She is very emotional and although she don't throw huge fits she does cry a lot in frustration of not making friends. If some one doesn't fit her mold then she won't be friends with them. Also she picks a friend and is friends with the same person for years. She will be hurt if that friend then has other friends. She will complain they don't like her. Basicly what they are saying is that she can't process everything like most kids. Something about a language impairment is why she can't read and struggles with it. I want to find out more about Girls with Autism. I am very courious with my girls having so many symptoms. Maybe I worry too much but I do want to know. Anyone with any info to contribute would be great.
