LIBYA: 5-HOUR ATTACK ON AL-ZAWYAH, 100 DEAD AND 400 HURT

AGI) Cairo - An attack on al-Zawyah by Libyan soldiers lasted for five hours,

killing 100 people and injuring another 400.

The city lies 40 kilometres away from Tripoli. The news comes from a witness

cited by Al Jazira, according to whom 35 military vehicles each carrying ten

soldiers entered the city and " began to open fire against people " using " high

calibre weapons such as those used against armoured vehicles and planes. " . .
