So says the Civil Aviation Administration of China which regulates the airport industry of the Peoples Republic of China. The cost of the massive investment is expected to reach $230 billion dollars despite 2010 being a bad year for Chinese airports. Although 130 airports across China lost money last year Beijing is still willing to spend money on travel and boost the economy. In fact 45 airports is only the bare minimum of what the Civil Aviation Administration would like to introduce with there being initial plans for 220 airports. Much of that investment would be to build airports in the East of China to connect poorer people there with the West of China. Li Jiaxiang, the administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, said: " We have seen in the past that when airports are built the economies of towns and cities near then grow too. " For instance airports boost the economies of farming areas by allowing them to export the vegetables and fruit that they produce across China. " China is an up and coming world superpower with a massive population and huge economy. The country is steadily climbing the list of the world's most visited countries and Chinese airports are also among the world's busiest. Soon China will take the mantle away from America for having the biggest air traffic industry. Earlier today China carried out the largest ever evacuation of its citizens that it has been necessary to do. More than four and a half thousand Chinese nationals were pulled out of Libya as the situation there became worse under Colonel Gaddafi. Guest guest
Not very good economic reasoning, but then I wonder how many airports, and airlines, would make money in the US if not for the government money slipped to them year after year. On the other hand, all these airports will mean more air travel which means more pollution. Add to that the scores of coal powered plants they are also building, it very much moots the US driven to destroy itself for the sake of cutting "greenhouse gasses." I really hope we do go into a new mini Ice Age, as unpleasant as that will be, because that's about the only thing that has a tiny chance of breaking the Global Warming Religion. " Russia was building a similar number of " airports " in the lead up to the German invasion so that their planes could hop across the country for bombing raids against the Third Reich. Guest guest
Interesting thought. I'd like to see where they are being built. If they are in the south toward India, that could be a bad sign. In a message dated 2/24/2011 10:46:15 A.M.
